In een universum dat ooit vrede kende, worden kleine, blauwe wezentjes op wrede wijze van hun vrijheid beroofd door aanvallende Darkbots. Vlieg van planeet naar planeet en help Armillo om ze te bevrijden en de indringers te verdrijven uit een reeks bolvormige 3D-werelden bomvol obstakels en vijanden.
Al rollend neem je het op tegen de Darkbots, waarbij je nieuwe routes verkent, tegenstanders ontwijkt en obstakels aan gruzelementen beukt. Spring en versterk je rollen om sterke vijanden uit te schakelen, of verzamel power-ups om speciale krachten te krijgen. Op je weg kom je grappige puzzels en bonussen tegen, waarmee Armillo de Darkbots te lijf kan gaan. Die extra krachten zul je hard nodig hebben als je het gevecht aangaat met eindbazen in hun eigen werelden.
In elk level kun je een parallelle wereld vinden, waarin je in 2D een race tegen de klok moet houden. In deze speciale platformlevels van de oude stempel heb je bliksemsnelle reflexen nodig, want de klok tikt genadeloos verder!
