synopsis (EN) | Pick up your Wii U GamePad and head out on a fascinating tour of the world with Wii Street U powered by Google. Take a trip down the road or hike the Grand Canyon, all without leaving your living room. Wii Street U powered by Google is available to download from Nintendo eShop for a limited time*.
Use the Wii U console’s unique controller, the Wii U GamePad, to give you a fresh perspective on the world. Simply type in a location and you'll be transported there – virtually, of course – with an overhead map on the TV giving everyone in the room a fascinating bird’s-eye view of the world. Then switch to Street View and use the Wii U GamePad’s 6.2-inch screen and intuitive motion controls to look around and explore the world.
If you can’t think of anywhere you’d like to visit, why not take a tour and check out some Recommended Tour Spots? These spectacular scenes from all over the world are just a few seconds away. You can even talk about your favourite spots with other users on Miiverse, and check out their suggestions too.
Update your software by starting it from the Wii U Menu while connected to the Internet, which will add the following features to make your globe-trotting experience even more exciting!
Automatically move along recommended routes, letting you take in the scenery while you move between spots. You can even search, bookmark and post your favourite routes, making it easier than ever to discover new sights around the world. And speaking of discovering new sights, use cryptic clues to seek out special characters hidden around the world. It's a global treasure hunt in the palm of your hand!
Step onto your Wii Balance Board and start walking around places all over the world. Walk on the spot to move forward, and shift your weight to change direction and explore the scene around you. As you take steps on the balance board, the screen will move up and down as though you're walking in real life, to help immerse you in the scene more than ever.
Write about your favourite spots on Miiverse, and post or view screenshots, from within Wii Street U powered by Google itself**. On top of bookmarking favourite routes, you can also create bookmarks for spots that you’ll want to come back to at the touch of a button, add Miiverse-supported tags to your bookmarks, see a location’s elevation, and even check which way is north using the on-screen compass! It’s even easier to explore on the ground because the handy Street View Guide (the line that shows all the paths you can follow) will turn a darker shade when you’ve already been somewhere.
