Set amongst a breath-taking vector graphics version of the Alps, and with an original soundtrack to play along to, Chasing Aurora invites you to swoop into a world of unique pop-up book style environments and experience the Wii U console’s asymmetric multiplayer capabilities. As well as the single-player mode there are three different multiplayer modes, so there’s plenty of fun for all! You can take your pick of the flock with five characters to choose from – are you more of a falcon fan or a crane character?
Multiplayer takes advantage of the asymmetric gameplay allowed by the Wii U GamePad, as one person takes control of the GamePad while the rest play using a Wii Remote and Nunchuk each. In two of the multiplayer modes, you’ll become either the predator or the prey and swap roles depending on the mode and which controller you’re using…
In Hide & Seek the player with the GamePad must hide from the other players who will try to steal the Aurora’s Gem they’re carrying – you’ll need precise movements and good timing to try to stay in the air. Or stay cool and freeze all of the other players in Freeze Tag as you use the GamePad to fly into them – the rest of the players need to co-operate and try to keep at least one bird unfrozen until the end of the round. Alternatively, Chase mode means it’s every bird for themselves as you all try to grab (and keep holding onto) Aurora’s Gem, while trying to be the last bird flying. Only one player can be left at the end!
Single-player mode is just as much of a hoot though – you can take part in a Trail Challenge and attempt to fly through a course against the clock, while hitting targets and scoring yourself points to receive time bonuses. But when the timer reaches zero, it’s game over. Your adrenaline is sure to be pumping as you attempt to dodge environmental hazards like waterfalls or sudden gusts of wind!

Spreid je vleugels en vlieg door de lucht in dit prachtige 2D-vliegspel voor maximaal vijf spelers, dat alleen verkrijgbaar is in de Nintendo eShop op Wii U. Chasing Aurora laat je vliegen door adembenemende, pop-upboekachtige berglandschappen die dankzij de gebruikte vector graphics zeer bijzonder ogen. Maak je bewegingen op de maat van de originele soundtrack en geniet van de asymmetrische meerspelermogelijkheden van Wii U. Naast de stand voor een enkele spelers zijn er drie meerspelerstanden, dus valt er voor jou en je vrienden heel wat te beleven! Voeg je bij de zwerm door te kiezen uit vijf personages - kies je de valk of ga je voor de kraanvogel? In de meerspelerstanden wordt de Wii U GamePad gebruikt voor asymmetrische mogelijkheden, waarbij één speler speelt met de GamePad, terwijl de anderen elk een Wii-afstandsbediening en Nunchuk gebruiken. In twee van de meerspelerstanden kun je de jager of de prooi worden, afhankelijk van het soort controller dat je in handen hebt... In Hide & Seek moet de speler met de GamePad zich verstoppen voor de andere spelers die proberen de Aurora’s Gem van de verstopte speler te pakken – het vereist precieze bewegingen en goede timing om hierbij in de lucht te blijven. In de stand Freeze Tag moet de speler met de GamePad zijn hoofd koel houden en alle andere spelers bevriezen door met ze te botsen - de rest van de spelers moet samenwerken om ervoor te zorgen dat minstens één vogel het eind van de ronde haalt. In de stand Chase strijden alle vogels tegen elkaar om de Aurora's Gem. Probeer deze edelsteen te pakken en vast te houden om als laatste vogel over te blijven! Ook in je eentje valt er heel wat vliegplezier te beleven! Je kunt deelnemen aan een Trail Challenge om in een race tegen de klok door een parkoers te vliegen terwijl je doelen raakt om punten en extra tijd te verdienen - want als de teller op nul staat is je spel voorbij. Je voelt je hart in je keel kloppen wanneer je met een duikvlucht een waterval of plotselinge windvlaag probeert te ontwijken! Verover de hemel in Chasing Aurora voor Wii U, en geniet van het gevoel dat je werkelijk vliegt! |
