Battle of the Bands introduces the concept of “music switching,” putting the player winning the battle in control of the style of music both players hear. When an opponent turns the tide of battle, the music changes as well, switching between different music styles. Als besonderes Feature bietet Battle of the Bands das Konzept des dynamischen Musikwechsels: Sie hören dabei immer die Musikrichtung des Spielers, der gerade vorne liegt. Sobald sich das Kampfglück wendet, ändert sich auch der Musikstil. Das Spiel greift dazu auf 30 klassische und aktuelle Chart-Hits der letzten 40 Jahre zurück! Diese wurden jeweils in fünf unterschiedlichen Musikrichtungen (Rock, Funk/Hip-Hop, Country, Latin und Marschmusik) aufgenommen und in Battle of the Bands eingebaut. Zusammen ergeben sich so 150 unverwechselbare Tracks!

La banda che farà più danni durante la fase di attacco e controllerà la musica nella sua durata, sarà dichiarata vincitrice. Questo rivoluzionario ed interattivo gioco, permetterà ti riprodurre le canzoni con il tuo stile musicale preferito. Strumenta la tua band con armi distruttive per ingaggiare duelli all’ultima nota con le altre bande, dimostrando che il tuo stile musicale è il migliore.
Due bands entrano in gioco, ma solo una sopravviverà!

I giocatori potranno settare il loro grado di bravura in maniera differente al fine di giocare con i propri amici a diversi livelli. | | title (NL) | Battle of the Bands | | synopsis (NL) | Battle of the Bands is een actievolle muziekgame die zich afspeelt in de stad New Cadenza, waar Mr. Hong met een ijzeren vuist regeert. Dit doet hij met de kracht van zijn onverbiddelijke Violent Orchestra. Spelers nemen de rol aan van één van de elf bands om Mr. Hong ten val te brengen. Met die band speelt de speler tegen andere bands om uiteindelijk de Violent Orchestra te verslaan in een muzikale strijd.
Daarbij maakt de game onder andere gebruik van een nieuw systeem waarmee tussen muziekstijlen wordt geschakeld. De speler die aan de winnende hand is kan zo de muziekstijl van een nummer veranderen tijdens de strijd. Battle of the Bands bevat dertig klassieke en moderne hits van de laatste vier decennia. Elk nummer is bovendien in vijf verschillende stijlen opgenomen, om het schakelen tussen muziekstijlen mogelijk te maken. De stijlen zijn rock, funk/hip-hop, country, Latin en drum band.
Het schakelen tussen muziekstijlen is echter niet het enige wapen dat jij en je tegenstander in het arsenaal hebben. De game bevat namelijk ook echte muzikale wapens zoals een sluipschuttersviool en een vlammenwerper-gitaar. Deze kun je ook inzetten tegen een vriend in de multiplayer-modus voor twee personen.
