In Cake Mania: In The Mix! mag je taarten bakken. Je speelt de rol van Jill en zal haar door negen nieuwe bakkerijen loodsen. Je hebt invloed op elk aspect van de business; van het maken en serveren van taarten tot aan het adverteren in de Dessert Daily krant.
Er zijn ontzettend veel gerechten, verschillende bezoekers en dus ook eisen waar je aan moet voldoen. Er zijn zelfs upgrades beschikbaar om je keuken om te bouwen tot een uniek kookparadijs.
Na het vrijspelen van de verschillende levels kan je op exotische locaties aan de slag. Je mag bakkerijen op de maan, de bodem van de zee en in het regenwoud openen. Er zijn ook speciale cake decoratie mini-games die ware taart-artiest in je naar boven halen.
