Scegli il tuo personaggio tra Harry, Ron e Hermione, nel gioco in single player e sarai aiutato da altri due personaggi controllati dal computer. Oppure gioca in cooperazione con altri due amici, combinando i poteri dei tre personaggi per evocare incantesimi ancora più potenti!
Ora le magie avranno effetto anche nell'ambiente circostante che si illuminerà ogni volta che evocherai un incantesimo. In questo gioco un nuovo sistema per il lancio degli incantesimi permette ai giocatori di ""sentire"" la magia per la prima volta, grazie alle vibrazioni del controller ad ogni colpo di bacchetta. Nel gioco l'enfasi è posta non solo sulle magie, ma anche sull'azione. Ti ritroverai in luoghi familiari come il campo della Coppa del Mondo di Quidditch e la Foresta proibita. Con decine di missioni e sottomissioni da portare a termine, Calice di Fuoco ti fa entrare davvero nei panni di Harry (o di Hermione e Ron!).
