Nintendogs is available in four different versions: each containing a different selection of six dogs to choose from at the start. By being a good owner and/or meeting up with friends' Nintendogs in Bark Mode, you can unlock more breeds, up to a total of 20 different dogs!

Ne ovat suloisia ja pörröisiä, ihmisten parhaita ystäviä. Voit kokea kuinka ihanaa on omistaa oma koiranpentu.
Jos oikean koiranpennun hankkiminen ei ole mahdollista. Nintendo tarjoaa sopivan vaihtoehdon, joka tulee varmasti miellyttämään sinua. Nintendogs vie virtuaalilemmikki-konseptin täysin uudelle tasolle lisäämällä uuden tavan kommunikoida virtuaalilemmikin kanssa. Pelaajat voivat koskettaa ja jutella koiranpennulleen, joka reagoi realistisesti pelaajan toimintoihin. Nintendogs on täydellinen lemmikki ihmisille, jotka eivät voi hankkia aitoa koiraa.
Pelaajat aloittavat pelin valitsemalla yhden koiranpennun kuudesta eri koirarodusta. Menestyessään pelaaja saa uusia koiranpentuja koirakenneliin ja hän voi lopuksi valita suosikkikoiranpentunsa kahdeksastatoista eri koirarodusta. DS:n puheentunnistimen ansiosta voit kutsua koiranpentua valitsemallasi nimellä! Voit rapsuttaa, silittää ja kutittaa koiranpentuasi käyttämällä DS:n Stylus-kynää. Leikkimällä koiranpentusi kanssa saat kehitettyä sen taitoja ja voit kouluttaa sitä, mikä tekee koiranpennustasi tottelevaisemman.
- Peli sisältää yhteensä 18 eri koirarotua. Heti pelin alussa seuraavat koirarodut: Chihuahua, Saksanpaimenkoira, Bokseri, Cavalier kingcharlesinspanieli, Yorkshirenterrieri ja Shetlanninlammaskoira.
- Innovatiivisen, kosketusnäyttöä hyödyntävän ohjaustavan avulla voit mm. leikkiä koiranpentusi kanssa useilla erilaisilla leluilla ja syöttää sekä kouluttaa uutta lemmikkiäsi.
- Opeta koiranpentuasi tekemään temppuja luomalla omia persoonallisia äänikomentoja. Koiranpennut reagoivat ääneesi sisäänrakennetun mikrofonin ansiosta. |
